Some cracks opened up on one side of the bowl during the turning process, the result of uneven moisture loss and stresses in the wood.  To stabilize the cracks and to ensure the bowl will give years and years of service, the cracks were filled with a combinaton of tinted exposy resin and crushed turquois stone. The bowl is now stabilized, and what was once a flaw in the wood is now an enhanced, stable feature of the piece, making it truly unique.
